Good News!
Reese did great in her surgery today, the doctor made about a 2" incision on the right side of her neck and removed 4 Lymph nodes, a couple quarter sized. They sent them straight over to the lab for pathology to test them. Dr. Wood had 3 ideas what they could be, Lymphoma (very rare in children), a viral infection, or one other disorder that is not as serious as cancer but I can't even remember the name of it now. Within 45 minutes the doctor came back to our room and let us know that it was not lymphoma! We were so relieved, it was some kind of viral infection and she will not need to be treated any further for it, we are so blessed and grateful!! They will culture the nodes to see what type of infection it was but could take 6-8 weeks before we hear anything on that. She is doing great, tonight if you didn't see her neck you would never know she had anything done today :) The nodes were under a large nerve in her neck that goes down her arm so doc said tomorrow she will probably be pretty sore, we are trying to keep on top of her pain with her meds so she doesn't have many problems!

They got behind and we ended up waiting for about 2 1/2 hours....Reese still did pretty good keeping entertained ;)
Surgery lasted about an hour, she was in the recovery room for about 15-20 minutes before they brought her back to the room to us. After about half our she was coming out of the anesthesia. She did great! When we were waiting for her to go into surgery she said "I wish the doctor would hurry up and fix me so I could go to chicken nuggets before they close!" She wanted to go to McDonalds so bad so we stopped on the way home and made her a happy girl! Her neck was really stiff, she was so cute still trying to smile :)
